Layr’s co-worker, Jeff, is a film maker. His work is amazingly creative and hilarious. Yesterday he turned his camera on Minky. Jeff and Minky go way back–they have quite a thing going, as you’ll see in the movies he made of her. They so capture her essence, they made me cry.
Here is the first one Coco vs. Bob-it.
This one Coco is very long – it will take quite a few minutes to load if you don’t have a fast connection.

The class I am taking finishes this week. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. There has been a lot of work to do hence the lack of entries at minky and me.
Yesterday, Layr got home early and we took Cokie Doke bowling. It was a great rainy afternoon activity. Cokie liked picking the balls up from the return machine thingee (there is probably a technical term for that contraption) and throwing them. She decided that taking turns wasn’t nearly as fun as bowling every frame herself. The bowling alley was of great interest to her and when she would run off we’d attempt to bowl. She’d run back, burst into tears and grab another ball.
We bought a kayak a few weeks ago. It is getting some good use. Minky and Daddy have gone several times while I have been at school. I come home to hear tales of their adventures.
We have been swimming too. Minky is getting pretty good. She seems to have no fear of the water. In fact, she seems to fear only fire drills and the dark, as far as I can tell.
She is in a real “no, I want to do it myself” phase. It can be trying at times. Her language is amazing. She told me last week to go stand in a cardboard box that was on the lawn–rather than in her baby pool–and said it would be excellent [if I did].
When I get upset she shouts, “Mommy’s MAD!”
She still loves parading around in the nude. She also loves the pull-up diapers Daddy bought her recently. She ponders which of the princess pictures she wants to wear.
Today while in the back seat of the car she sang quite a bit of “Back in Baby’s Arms.”
When I sing or dance she shouts, “I wanna do it myself,” and insists that I stop.
As my mom once said, “she’ll be the boss of somebody.” Actually, she’s the boss of me already.

This is written by Daddy. I covered for Susan while she went to school a couple of days. I decided to take Minky of her inaugural kayak ride. Our new tandem kayak has sliding seats, so it can be ridden double, solo, or with a 2 year old on one’s lap. She loved it. Minky pointed, and I paddled in that direction. We chased ducks, checked out houses, drifted under trees, visited a lakeside playground, and generally had a good time. Today (the next day), we saw a turtle laying eggs, fish jumping, baby swans, charred wood on the ’secret island’ in the middle of the pond, and our next door neighbors in a canoe. Prior to the paddle, I rode nearly 20 miles with Coco in her bike trailer. She slept most of the time. She seems to love this active stuff. Me too.
