Dressed as a kitty, along with her penguin friend, Lucca, Coco hit the street ready to get some candy tonight. And from what I observed, the apple doesn’t fall from the tree. In addition to loving candy like her parents, Coco is not shy. She marched right up to each door, knocked and shouted “Trick or Treat,” before anyone opened the door! In she strolled to several people’s homes and did not seem to notice me in the doorway beseeching her to come back out.

I – Dad – was driving in the car yesterday, with Minky behind in her car seat. Minky exclaimed, “It’s like creme Daddy!” I looked back and she was rubbing something all over her face and hands. I was a bit worried about what she might have gotten into so I started grilling her on exactly what she was rubbing all over herself. Finally, she looked at me very sincerely and said, “It’s from my nose.”

Minky stood next to me on the counter the other night, as we both peered out of the kitchen window into the dark. It was 6 o’clock, the time when our new co-houser, the cross orb spider, crawls down from the top of the window sill. During the day it reminds me of a periwinkle crab. All I can see of it, if I press the top of my head against the glass, are its vulnerable, spindly legs. The spider is big and occasionally it seems to be evaluating how clean I keep the kitchen; it might come inside soon and give me the what-for. The web it has crafted is magnificent. It is half the width of the window, round and the light from inside makes it twinkle. As it hung there, discourteously staring into the sink, I suggested we sing “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” As we started, Minky turned toward the window and said, “We’re singing a song to you.”
In other news….yesterday Minky announced:
�I spit on my flum!�
�It�s all wet!�
�Yuck!�
Tonight, as she was getting ready for bed, I asked if Willard is the best guy, Layr answered, �no, I�m the best guy.� Minky said, �no, I�m the best guy.�
