Peeing

With every new stage your child goes through, there are new things to learn. Take the latest lesson, as an example. Since Coco is nearly potty trained–diapers only at bedtime–we have decided to forgo last year’s swimmy ritual. Instead she just wears her bathing suit into the water like a big kid.

We were swimming this weekend and saw her crouch in the water in a way that seemed suspicious. Daddy approached and asked her if she had peed in the water. She said “No. No, I didn’t pee–three times.”

Dog Bunny

Several times recently, Rocky has wandered by wearing these bunny ears. Each time I see him in this getup, I am confused momentarily. “Huh?” Then I notice the culprit, casually jumping around nearby. Rocky doesn’t seem to mind his sister dressing him up this way. It hasn’t stopped him for engaging in his most favorite pastime: chewing a tennis ball.

Happy Father’s Day

We had a great Father’s Day that was also part graduation celebration and birthday party. Right after cake today, Coco demonstated her new found winking ability with Daddy and the birthday girl.

Signets

I took Coco out on the kayak on Spy Pond this evening. We’ve been monitoring a swans nest in some reeds on Elizabeth Island – a tiny Island in the center of the pond. Today the swans were not guarding their nest, despite 2 huge unbroken eggs sitting there. We paddled over to the swans, and discovered two baby swans, signets, sitting on one of the swan’s backs. After a couple of minutes, the babies slipped off Mom’s back and swam aroung a bit. While Minky takes it for granted, I think it’s amazing finding such ‘nature’ 10 minutes from Harvard Square.

Grout

Yesterday I decided I would re-grout the bathroom. It came out pretty good, I think.
